Cazoo Open supported by Gareth Bale - Fantasy DP World Tour Ones to Watch

The DP World Tour’s UK Swing continues this week with a visit to Wales as the 2022 Cazoo Open supported by Gareth Bale takes place at The Celtic Manor Resort.

Nacho Elvira defends while Jordan Smith looks to turn his consistency into a victory and some rising European Challenge Tour stars target a DP World Tour win.

If you have not done so already, you can sign up now to the official Fantasy Game of the DP World Tour and submit your six-man team before round one on Thursday:

Favourite - Jordan Smith

Jordan Smith

The Englishman is enjoying his finest season since claiming his maiden victory in 2017. He has missed just one cut in 2022 and even that was by only a single stroke after he birdied his final three holes in round two at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters. With two runner-up finishes and three further top tens seeing him sit 12th in the DP World Tour Rankings in Partnership with Rolex, Smith is trending in the right direction for win number two.

The German is playing his first season with full playing privileges on the DP World Tour and has made an impressive start since graduating from the Challenge Tour. He followed a third place finish with a runner up in February and March and has made ten cuts in a row since the start of May. Four of those made cuts have resulted in top tens, including back-to-back at the Barbasol and Barracuda Championships last month and he currently sits 18th on the Rankings.

Wild card - Oliver Hundebøll

Another impressive player with Challenge Tour links in the field this week is Hundebøll, with the Dane having yet to secure his playing privileges on the DP World Tour. The now 23-year-old made his debut at the 2019 Made in Denmark presented by FREJA and also missed the cut in his second appearance at the 2020 Euram Bank Open. But he already has a win, a second and two further top fives on the Challenge Tour in 2022, and last week finished fifth on the DP World Tour at the Hero Open. Sitting second on the Road to Mallorca, we are likely to see a lot more of him in 2023 but a win this week would hasten his elevation in the game.
