Expect drama in the mountains this week at the Omega European Masters.
Since 2007, ten of the last 18 editions of the tournament at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club have been decided by a play-off.
Arguably most memorably, Sebastian Söderberg edged out Rory McIlroy in a five-way play-off that also included Lorenzo Gagli, Kalle Samooja and Andres Romero to become a DP World Tour winner in 2019.
Thriston Lawrence, this year's defending champion, won the first of his two red jackets in 2022 via a play-off against Matt Wallace, who later edged out Alfredo Garcia-Heredia to become king of the mountains in 2024.
Matt Fitzpatrick has won both his titles via play-offs too, in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
