As the Closing Swing reaches a climax this week at the Danish Golf Championship, here is all that players of the DP World Tour’s official fantasy game need to know.
For the second year running, Denmark’s national championship brings Phase One of the Race to Dubai schedule to a close but this time it is happening at a new venue.
The $2.75million tournament, which this year is staged at Furesø Golf Klub, provides players with the last opportunity to qualify for the Back 9, the second phase of the DP World Tour’s season.
A host of home favourites are in Copenhagen, including the Højgaard twins, Thorbjørn Olesen and Niklas Nørgaard, while much will be expected of Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen, who is playing at his home club this week.
They are joined by several stars making their return to Europe from commitments stateside, including England’s Matt Wallace, Sweden’s Jesper Svensson and Finland’s Sami Välimäki.
Frederic Lacroix is the defending champion having won his maiden DP World Tour title last season at Lübker Golf Resort.
From insight into the week’s most-picked players among Fantasy managers, to our ones to watch, we run the rule ahead of Thursday’s deadline to pick your team.
Who are the most backed players?
Winner of this event two years ago, Rasmus Højgaard (89%) just has the edge over twin brother Nicolai (88%) when it comes to popularity among our Fantasy users for this week.
There is then a drop to Matt Wallace in third, with the Englishman featuring in 62% of teams, as Scandinavian pair Thorbjørn Olesen (55%) and Kristoffer Reitan (53%) round out the top five.
Who are our ones to watch?
Here, we pick out three players in action this week who are worth considering for your Fantasy team selections.
Favourite – Nicolai Højgaard
You could make a case for several players teeing it up this week who fit this category. As we always do with this weekly feature, we’ve gone with the favourite in the betting markets. After missing out on qualifying for the FedExCup Play-Offs, attention now switches back to Europe for Nicolai as he targets a strong finish over the final two events of the Closing Swing in a bid to boost his hopes of featuring in a second Ryder Cup next month. While he missed four cuts on the bounce from The Players Championship through to Masters Tournament earlier in the season, he showed his class by finishing in a tie for fourth at the Genesis Scottish Open on the Rolex Series. That result earned him a spot at The Open Championship, where he finished in a tie for 14th at Royal Portrush. Now back inside the world’s top 100, the 24-year-old goes in search of his third DP World Tour title.
Form Horse – Kristoffer Reitan
While he may not be the favourite as he was last week at the Nexo Championship, the Norwegian did maintain his fine form with a tie for third in Scotland to climb to third in the Race to Dubai Rankings. With dual membership now appearing all but a formality, he appears to have nothing to lose over the closing months of a breakout season on the DP World Tour. Playing with great belief since his victory at the Soudal Open in May, the 27-year-old is proving himself adept at adapting to varying course conditions. He finds himself at a career-high 80th on the Official World Golf Ranking, having been 438th when he started the season in Australia after graduating from the HotelPlanner Tour. Quite the story, and who knows where he might be come the season finale in Dubai. It would come as little surprise if he was to win again before then. Perhaps in familiar surroundings in Scandinavia?
Wild Card – Lucas Bjerregaard
As proven by Grant Forrest last week, it only takes one result to change the course of a season. Without a top ten since his promotion back to the DP World Tour from the HotelPlanner Tour, the experienced Bjerregaard is an outside bet but being back in his homeland could be the stimulus to bring out his best. He was in the mix to win his national championship last year, before finishing in a tie for second after Frederic Lacroix produced a stunning closing final round to claim victory. His runner-up finish on home soil last year remains his best finish on Tour since 2021. With the first round coinciding with his 34th birthday, could he have reason for double celebration and become the second home winner in as many weeks? There have been bigger surprises in the game.

Looking back – Nexo Championship
With the DP World Tour making its first visit to Trump International Golf Links last week, it is perhaps unsurprising that two of the top four most picked players were Scottish.
While Grant Forrest was not one of those two, he was among the top 20 most picked, rewarding the 2,542 players who picked him with 180 points as he claimed a four-shot victory to become a two-time DP World Tour winner.
Kristoffer Reitan, our Favourite, finished in a tie for third, while Form Horse Marco Penge ended the week tied for 27th, alongside our Wild Card Daniel Young.
