Victor makes amazing start

Starting the day two shots behind playing partner Jordan Smith, last week's Dutch Open winner Victor Perez had already birdied the first before producing a moment of magic on the second, although he was perhaps not aware his ball had gone in for an ace as he already had his putter in hand before celebrating.

"The scorecard paints no pictures"

Japan's Masahiro Kawamura looked certain to drop at least one shot on the par-three eighth after finding water off the tee, but saved par in spectacular fashion by holing out from the drop zone.

Smith keeping things quiet... in more ways than one

Halfway leader Jordan Smith arrived in style courtesy of one of Porsche's electric vehicles, a car so quiet that he was not even sure if he had turned the engine off. Smith was also keeping quiet about just how quick he might have been travelling on the autobahn.

Fleetwood making a move

On a difficult day for scoring only two players broke 70, Justin Walters and Tommy Fleetwood both shooting 69 to climb into sixth place and a share of 11th respectively.

Møller impresses with massive drive

Denmark's Niklas Nørgaard Møller drew high praise from commentator Mark Roe with a blistering drive on the 13th.
