DP World Tour statement on conflicting tournament releases

The DP World Tour has granted conditional releases to a number of players who have requested to play in conflicting tournaments the Singapore Open, from January 20-23, 2022 and the Saudi International, from February 3-6, 2022.

All requests submitted in accordance with the Tour’s Members’ General Regulations Handbook were carefully considered on a case-by-case basis by the European Tour group’s Executive.

Consequently, the Tour has now granted releases in respect of all the requests it received, which are specific to the individual member concerned and their particular circumstances.

Those members involved have been informed of this decision and, according to the Members’ General Regulations Handbook, because all requests to participate in a conflicting tournament must be submitted 30 days prior to the event in question, no further requests to participate in either the Singapore Open or the Saudi International will now be considered.

This decision is not precedent setting and requests from any member for a release for a future conflicting tournament will continued to be evaluated individually in accordance with the Members’ General Regulations Handbook.
