European Tour Performance Institute upgrades web and social media

The European Tour Performance Institute (ETPI) has recently launched a new online platform designed to help all golfers get the best out of their golf and health via the same tools used by European Tour players.

Many Tour professionals, national teams and recreational golfers take the time to improve at ETPI Jumeirah Golf Estates and ETPI Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort*. For those who stay at home,www.ETPI.comcan provide a great start to the 2015 golf season through fitness screening software and videos behind the Tour Fit For Golf button.

Visitors can get an understanding of six key biomechanical performance areas in golf, test their ability and set up their own 12 week programme for health and golf fitness.

Social media users, too, can also get regular fitness tips and encouragement from the world of professional golf, plus behind the scenes action from on-site at European Tour events, through ETPI’s presence onTwitterandInstagram.

ETPI was developed in 2008 by The European Tour’s Medical & Performance Services team to provide all golfers with knowledge from the Tour’s performance and medical practitioners, who over the past 20 years have been using and disseminating data from the best players in the world.

In addition to golf fitness advice, the institute’s new online presence showcases the efficient use of the latest science and technology within sport – which is now so often the deciding factor between winning and losing in any form of golf.

In fact, Sweden’s Henrik Stenson is such a firm advocate of the institute that the World Number Two and 2013 Race to Dubai winner recently visited the ETPI Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai to prepare ahead of last week’s Dubai Desert Classic.

Commenting on the benefits of the ETPI, Stenson said: “If you can use a facility like ETPI, you can get the work done so much easier and in a completely unique way.

“It’s important to use technology for improvements and have a good team around you. And here you have the facilities to work on every aspect of your game. It’s a great place to start off your season.

“It’s not just me. A lot of my fellow tour pros stop off here in Dubai to start their season off before heading down to South Africa or before the Desert Swing.

“All you want is here - driving range, gym, putting green, studios with all the equipment and technology – it’s the one place to go if you’re serious about your golf.”

With ETPI opening its doors to the public, the role of technology, health and performance analysis has transitioned itself into all realms of golf and provides the opportunity for any player to prepare like a pro and witness the subsequent benefits that accompany this.

So don’t let any New Year fitness or golfing resolutions slip the net through lack of support and start improving your game today.
