Event Information for The 2022 Genesis Scottish Open

TRANSPORT

Travel By Car

Spectators should follow the yellow AA event signage which will direct you to the public car park.

There will be no access to the Renaissance Club for spectators’ vehicles, except those with valid car park labels.

Travel by Train

Spectators travelling by train should stop at the Longniddry Rail Station.

All ticket holders will be able to use the free bus service, which will drop you off at the entrance to the Genesis Scottish Open.

Shuttles will meet each train at Longniddry travelling both from Edinburgh and to Edinburgh.

DISABLED CUSTOMERS

There will be dedicated disabled spaces on site for spectators whose vehicles display a blue badge. The disabled car park is located in CP2. Wheelchair users will need to contact Ticketing@europeantourgroup.com in order to make arrangements in advance and gain admission to site.

Spectators wanting to rent an electric scooter will be able to do so at the Event Mobility tent located in the village.

Event Mobility is a charity and kindly asks for a donation of £30 for using electric scooters and £10 for the manual wheelchairs.

Spectators can also pick them up on the day and these are available on a first come first served basis.

TAXI/UBER

Taxi and Uber drop off and collection will be at the public car park only. There is strictly no Taxi/Uber drop off at the Renaissance Club for General ticket holders.

THE CHAMPIONSHIP VILLAGE

The Championship Village is located near to the driving range and where it’s all happening off the golf course and where you will find plenty of seating to relax. There will be a couple of big screens showing the action and scores so, there is no need to miss any of the golf.

The Spectator Village is a hive of activity with lots of sporting activities within the Genesis Interactive Zone to keep the whole family entertained.

There will be a 30m long putt where you can try and hole out on the replica of the Renaissance Golf Club 18th hole.

A bespoke putting course will challenge visitors to play 6 holes which are Renaissance Golf Course and Genesis themed.

A multisport game zone representing challenges in Rugby, Tennis and Football.

The chipping challenge zone will give players 60 seconds to score as many points as possible.

The Gong Challenge is this year’s new activation which has never been seen before! Challengers will be invited to hit a ball across a custom builtwater feature to try and hit a gong located at the end of the structure.

EXHIBITION

There are various exhibitions within the Championship Village.

Genesis: The Genesis Experience Tent will introduce its visitors to the Genesis brand as well as its new partnership with the Scottish Open. Various digital and tech experiences will be featured such as a photo booth, a remote-control golf ball challenge, an interactive display and much more!

Visitors will also have an opportunity to enter the Genesis car display, allowing them to view Genesis models and also test drive their favourite models!

GRANDSTAND SEATING / VIEWING PLATFORM

Dedicated viewing platforms will be positioned on holes 2, 6 and 13 for those with mobility issues.

NO SMOKING in the grandstands or viewing platforms. Alcohol will be permitted on the grandstands at this event. Spectators are kindly asked not to stand in the grandstands during play.

ADDITIONAL SEATING

There are picnic bench seating areas located in the Championship Village surrounding the food outlets, big screen, and exhibitions. There are also seating areas at each of the on-course public catering outlets.

LEADERBOARDS

Live leaderboards are located across holes 9, 14, 15, 16, 17 to keep you up to date with the action.
Big Screens are also located on the 6th hole, 18th Green and within the Championship Village.

There are public toilet facilities available in the following areas.

*Baby changing facilities are located within the disabled toilets

The First Aid tent is located at the entrance to the event. There will also be mobile first aiders onsite.
