Callum Shinkwin

The English man is trending after two top 5’s in a month. He was in my team last week and after a T3 he keeps his place. Shinkwin has performed well around Albatross Golf Resort with a T9th finish. The big hitting former junior boxer will have the ideal game for this golf course.

With one European Tour title to his name Callum will be looking to improve on his Race to Dubai ranking position of 104.

Sam Horsfield

Sam is back in Europe and straight into my team. With 5 top 10’s in twelve starts the English man has been showing good signs.

Horsfield averages over 300 yards from the tee, hits greens and is 4th on the putting stats. Added to these stats is course form, he finished 3rd last time the event was played in 2019

Dean Burmester

The South African is 27th on this years Race to Dubai standings thanks to his win at the Tenerife Open. His stroke average is 69.60 which is inside the top 10 on tour. Dean hits it a mile and holes plenty of putts. A very similar trait to Horsfield. I’ve chosen long hitters this week after looking at past players success and having played the course myself on the Ladies European Tour.

Ryan Fox

The big-hitting New Zealander has been playing some decent golf all year, but without that big breakout performance. He’s notched up five top-15s in 12 starts, but only one of those has gone for a top-10. He finished tied-13th at last week’s Cazoo Classic. It will likely be a low-scoring event this week and Fox is 11th in birdies per round (4.51) this season. If he has a decent week with the putter, he should be there or thereabouts.

Jacques Kruyswijk

The South African has the lowest stroke average on the European Tour at 68.70 from 27 rounds. He arrives in the Czech Republic on decent form having finished tied-10th in the Cazoo Open and tied-11th in the ISPS Handa World Invitational in his last two starts. He also has a good record at Albatross Golf Resort, with a tied-7th and tied-23rd here in the last two renewals.

Hugo Leon

I picked him here for the Hero Open and he finished tied-16th, off the back of a run of 2-T14-T7. His best European Tour result to date is a tied-5th at this event in 2019, the last time this tournament was played, so there’s never going to be more logic behind selecting him. He recently reached a career-high of 342 in the world rankings at the age of 36.
