The FedEx Open de France today announced the launch of the Birdies for Good initiative, continuing its collaboration with the Arbor Day Foundation through a community tree-planting programme linked to this year’s championship.
As part of the initiative, FedEx has committed funding for 500 trees to be planted this autumn on farmland Noisy-le-Roi, near Versailles, returning to the site of the tournament’s 2025 planting project.
Ahead of the 108th edition of Continental Europe’s oldest national open – taking place at Le Golf National from September 24-27, 2026 – FedEx will also fund 10 additional trees for every birdie recorded on the par-3 16th hole throughout the four rounds of championship play. All additional trees funded through tournament scoring will be allocated to support reforestation initiatives in French regions affected by wildfires.
This year’s programme builds on the format introduced during the 2025 tournament, when tree-planting contributions were similarly linked to competitive scoring. During the 2025 event, 36 eagles scored by competitors resulted in FedEx funding 1,400 trees total.
"Since 2014, FedEx has supported the Arbor Day Foundation through charitable grants and team member volunteering,” said April Britt, director of global citizenship at FedEx. “Through the FedEx Open de France, we are proud to focus our support locally, funding 500 trees in Noisy-le-Roi and contributing to French wildfire restoration based on tournament play.”

“Last year’s tournament turned exceptional play into funding for 1,400 trees planted on farmland near Versailles,” said Dan Lambe, chief executive of the Arbor Day Foundation. “This year, we’re proud to build on that initiative and collaborate with FedEx to once again support tree planting near Versailles and in wildfire-affected regions of France.”
The FedEx Open de France, which was first staged in 1906 and became part of golf’s global Tour in 1972, returns to Le Golf National this year following course renovations since 2024.
Julien Guerrier, Martin Couvra, Antoine Rozner, Romain Langasque and Victor Perez are among the French favourites leading the home charge, while Ryder Cup trio Tommy Fleetwood, Ludvig Åberg, and Viktor Hovland bolster a world-class field.
Tickets for the 2026 FedEx Open de France are now on sale, with General Admission and Premium Hospitality packages available.
