Genesis Championship to welcome multiple winners Chacarra, Jarvis and Schaper in South Korea

The trio, together with the already announced Champion Golfer of the Year Ryan Fox and Denmark’s rising star Jacob Skov Olesen, make up five of the current top ten on the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World.

Chacarra is firmly in the mix to win the prestigious Harry Vardon Trophy when the season reaches a climax next month at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, having won titles at the KLM Open and DS Automobiles 83° Open d'Italia across the European Swing in quick succession earlier this year.

The 26-year-old won his first DP World Tour last year at the Hero Indian Open while playing on an invite and has since established himself as a consistent performer, with the chance to become just the third Spaniard after Seve Ballesteros and more recently Jon Rahm to be crowned European Number One.

Jarvis claimed back-to-back wins during the International Swing at the Magical Kenya Open presented by absa and the Investec South African Open Championship – the latter earning him spots at this year’s Masters and The Open.

His fellow South African Schaper also enjoyed a memorable fortnight during the Opening Swing at the back end of last year, claiming play-off triumphs at both the Alfred Dunhill Championship and the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open. He held the lead at the top of the Race to Dubai Rankings until February, when Patrick Reed replaced him by becoming the second of four multiple winners so far this season with wins at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic and Qatar Masters.

Schaper and Chacarra will be joined at Woo Jeong Hills from October 22-25 by fellow winners of Global Swings in Mikael Lindberg and Scott Jamieson, who claimed the Asian Swing and Closing Swing respectively.

The Genesis Championship, which is co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and KPGA TOUR, will celebrate its tenth edition this year with a total prize fund of US$4 million. Tickets are available to purchase here.

As many as 16 winners on this season’s Race to Dubai are in line to compete, while there is further strength in the presence of Ryder Cup winner and Rolex Series winner Nicolai Højgaard.

First played in 2017, the Genesis Championship has grown into a truly global golf tournament since becoming a co-sanctioned KPGA TOUR and DP World Tour event in 2024.

As the final tournament of the Back 9 on the DP World Tour’s global schedule, and the last event of the regular season before the Play-Offs, it delivers a fiercely contested title race each year.

Held as an extension of the strategic partnership between the KPGA TOUR and the DP World Tour, the tournament is also attracting attention as a crucial gateway for Korean players to step onto the global stage. This year, a field of 126 players — 36 from the KPGA TOUR and 90 from the DP World Tour — will compete for the trophy.

Si Woo Kim and Sungjae Im along with defending champion Junghwan Lee have all been confirmed to tee it up on home soil.

The tournament also marks the final opportunity for DP World Tour players to secure their status for the following season, with those finishing inside the top 100 of the Race to Dubai standings earning playing rights on the DP World Tour.

Genesis — the first Global Official Vehicle of the PGA TOUR — serves as title partner of the Genesis Championship as well as the Genesis Invitational and the Genesis Scottish Open as part of its global golf marketing strategy, and participates as the official vehicle sponsor of the Presidents Cup and the Abu Dhabi Championship.
