Retief Goosen had to retire from the Alfred Dunhill SA PGA after the 1st Round due to an impact fracture to his left arm, and will be out of action for the next two weeks.
"I was looking forward to playing on the Southern Africa Tour this season and am disappointed not to be playing for the next couple of weeks," said Retief.
"I thought that I had pulled a ligament in my left arm, but even after treatment the injury was getting worse. I had an x-ray, which showed that I had an impact fracture in my left arm just below the joint. The doctor said I must rest my arm for at least two weeks and there should be no difficulties in recovery. I will have another x-ray at the end of January and I hope to be back in action again by February."
