Last week's winner Joachim B. Hansen found himself in possession of a one shot lead as he reached the turn on day three of the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
The 30-year-old is looking to become the first player since Justin Rose in 2017 to win European Tour titles in consecutive weeks after securing his first at the Joburg Open six days ago.
And he did his chances no harm early on Saturday, covering the front nine in 33 blows to move to 12 under par and leapfrog halfway leader Adrian Meronk at the summit.
Hansen went into the third round three strokes behind Meronk but soon set about closing the gap, rolling in from six feet for a birdie on the first before taking advantage of the long second from 12 feet.
That moved the in-form Dane to 12 under, and when he safely parred the third and playing partner Meronk missed his par putt, he joined the Pole at the top of the leaderboard.
Hansen took the outright lead when Meronk dropped another shot on the fourth to fall to 11 under.
His long range birdie putt at the fifth pulled up just short but Hansen moved to 13 under after sending his bunker shot to within two feet of the pin on the sixth and rolling in for his third birdie of the day.
Hansen's tee shot at the short seventh pitched extremely close to the hole before finishing around eight feet away.
He narrowly missed his birdie try before dropping his first shot of the day on the eighth after his second shot came up short of the green.
Hansen closed his front nine with a tap-in par to head to the turn one shot ahead of Meronk, who completed his front nine in 37 shots after making back to back bogeys on the third and fourth.
American Sean Crocker was another shot behind Meronk on ten under after making four birdies in his first 14 holes.
