Benjamin Hebert saw his lead cut to one shot as Jorge Campillo went in search of back to back European Tour wins at the Volvo China Open.
Hebert entered the final day at Genzon Golf Club with a three shot lead and despite picking up a shot in his first nine holes to get to 18 under, he saw his lead trimmed by Campillo.
The Spaniard won his maiden title at last week's Trophée Hassan II and turned in 33 to put himself right in contention for two victories in as many weeks.
Finn Mikko Korhonen was at 16 under alongside home favourite Wu Ashun.
Hebert's advantage was quickly cut to two shots as Korhonen rolled in a very long right to lefter on the first, with Campillo also birdieing from 15 feet.
An excellent chip on the next made it a birdie-birdie start for the 32-year-old but Hebert made a gain of his own from four feet to keep the lead at two.
Wu had produced an excellent chip of his own on the second to set up a birdie and an 18 footer on the fourth moved him alongside Korhonen.
Campillo found a nasty lie on the fourth to slip back and make it a three way tie for second.
Just like on the first, Korhonen rolled in a long putt for birdie on the fifth with Campillo following him in from 15 feet, and with Hebert making a first bogey of the day, the lead was cut to one.
The Finn was flying and a ten foot putt on the next had him in a share of the lead.
It was a day for long putts and Wu made an enormous effort of his own on the seventh to get within one of the leaders.
Korhonen was just off the green off the tee at the par three eighth and needed three putts to get down, dropping back to 16 under.
Hebert sent his second on the ninth right but got a nice bounce off a tree, allowing him to get up and down for birdie, with Campillo also making a gain.
Home favourite Li Haotong, French trio Victor Dubuisson, Romain Langasque and Mike Lorenzo-Vera, and American David Lipsky were four shots off the lead.
