Jax Jones, the Grammy and Brit-nominated multi-platinum selling artist, will rock the BMW PGA Championship when he brings his genre-defying DJ set to the Slingsby Showstage after play wraps up on Saturday September 10th in the fourth Rolex Series event of the 2022 DP World Tour season.

The BMW PGA Championship has for many years been a key date in the English sport and social calendar, with its mix of world-class competitive golf action, globally-renowned music acts, celebrity pro-am and a buzzing spectator village.

In the past five years alone, the likes of Feeder, Rudimental, Anne-Marie, Kaiser Chiefs, Mike and the Mechanics, Simple Minds and others have rocked the stage at Wentworth.

Jax Jones is the first global music act to be announced for the 2022 BMW PGA Championship, with a Sunday headline act to be announced soon. Tickets for Saturday sold out completely in 2021, so fans are advised to purchase their tickets here now to avoid disappointment.

The London-born artist, who recently performed at the Platinum Party at the Palace outside Buckingham Palace, has collaborated with artists such as Ed Sheeran, Demi Lovato, Diana Ross, Mark Ronson and Years and Years in a career which has made him a mainstay in the modern British music scene.

He rose to fame in 2014 by featuring in Duke Dumont’s hit single “I Got U” before following up with his own breakthrough singles “You Don’t Know Me” featuring Raye, and “Instruction” featuring Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don, in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

His debut album Snacks (Supersize) was released in 2019 and was the UK’s best-selling dance album of the year, charting in the top ten of the UK album charts.

“We are thrilled to add Jax Jones to our music line-up for this year’s BMW PGA Championship,” said Kit Gartrell, the DP World Tour’s Championship Director for the prestigious event. “This event has a special place in the British sporting calendar as a festival of golf and entertainment, with the famous Wednesday Celebrity Pro-Am, a buzzing Spectator Village and music acts to keep the party going after the action on the course has finished up for the day.

“Jax Jones is sure to bring an incredible party atmosphere on Saturday night at Wentworth Club with his unique brand of dance music, and we are looking forward to announcing more exciting acts for the event in coming weeks.”

Last year saw Clean Bandit (DJ Set & Live Vocalist) and Feeder headline the Slingsby Showstage on Saturday and Sunday evenings respectively, with acoustic acts providing the background music to the weekend’s daytime festivities.

Every year, the BMW PGA Championship attracts more than 100,000 spectators for what is one of the highlights of the British summer, with its mix of world-class golf, live entertainment from internationally-renowned music acts and an unrivalled atmosphere in the vibrant Spectator Village.

The action begins with the Tuesday Practice Day, before the star-studded Celebrity Pro-Am brings together global celebrity superstars and some of golf’s most famous players in a fun-filled curtain raiser to the main event, the BMW PGA Championship, which tees off on Thursday September 8 and runs through to Sunday September 11.

The BMW PGA Championship takes place less than an hour from central London with a range of transport options available. In 2022, BMW Group owners will once again receive preferred on-site parking benefits as per previous years, and Park & Ride will be also available free of charge. Information and location on parking options will be available closer to the event.

Complimentary tickets for those aged 12 years and under are available upon purchase of an Adult ticket.
