Kaymer and Daly set to entertain in Denmark

Two double Major Champions have confirmed their attendance at this year’s Made in Denmark tournament – and one of them is packing his guitar alongside his clubs.

Ryder Cup star Martin Kaymer of Germany and American golf legend John Daly will both compete at Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort on August 24-27, with Daly also set to take the stage at the Made in Denmark Festival on Thursday August 23.

The flamboyant 51 year old, who claimed victory at The PGA Championship in 1991 and The Open Championship in 1995, is also a talented musician who has released two albums.

Daly said: “I’m looking forward to coming to Denmark to play in the Made in Denmark tournament and join the fans at the festival to sing a couple of songs.”

Kaymer was so impressed by his first experience at Himmerland in 2016 that he has signed up to appear again this year.

The tournament is known for its special atmosphere and passionate supporters, particularly around the natural amphitheatre at the dramatic 128 yard uphill par three 16th hole, known by local supporters as ‘Himmerland Hill’

Kaymer, who won his two Major titles at the PGA Championship in 2010 and the U.S. Open in 2014, said: "I am really looking forward to coming back to Denmark. It was a very good week in 2016, I had a fantastic time in Himmerland and the fan support is phenomenal. The 16th especially is one of the best holes we play all year, and I can't wait to stand there again."

Made in Denmark Promoter, Flemming Astrup, said: "It's a huge coup for us that John Daly wants to play Made in Denmark, and maybe even bigger that we managed to persuade him to play at the festival – I don’t think anything like this has been seen before at a tournament.

"We’re also delighted that Martin Kaymer will come back this year. It is great news for everyone involved with the tournament, especially our spectators, who create such a mood and atmosphere that even world stars like Kaymer don’t want to miss out.”

2017 marks the fourth year of the Made in Denmark tournament at Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort in FarsØ.  The accompanying music festival was introduced in 2016, helping to create a diverse experience for fans with world class golf, exhibitions and shows, food experiences, concerts, and festival camping.
