Kristoffer Reitan, Alex Fitzpatrick, Nicolai Højgaard and Jordan Smith progress to FedExCup Playoff debuts on PGA TOUR

Kristoffer Reitan, Alex Fitzpatrick, Nicolai Højgaard and Jordan Smith will all make their debut in the PGA TOUR's FedExCup Playoffs after stellar campaigns for the quartet of dual DP World Tour members.

After a 34-event regular season, the top 70 players progressing to the start of the three-leg FedEx Cup PlayOffs is finalised following the climax of the Wyndham Championship on Sunday.

Among those are 27 DP World Tour members, of which there are the usual suspects such as Major Champions Rory McIlroy, Matt Fitzpatrick and Justin Rose, while Ryder Cup team-mates including Tommy Fleetwood, Ludvig Åberg and Viktor Hovland among others will also tee it up this week at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

The top 50 then progress to the BMW Championship, before the field for the Tour Championship is whittled down to 30.

While there are a plethora of familiar figures set to vie for the title of FedExCup winner over the coming weeks, there are also a quartet of DP World Tour members who have starred stateside on the PGA TOUR in 2026. Let's tell the tale of how they made it to Memphis...

Kristoffer Reitan

Age: 28

FedExCup Ranking: 18

After finishing eighth on the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World last season to be the third best placed of the ten players to earn dual membership, he has been one of the standout performers on the PGA TOUR. Such has been the impression he has made in his rookie campaign stateside, it is easy to forget he was playing on the HotelPlanner Tour as recently as 2024, and decided to step away from competitive golf in 2022 to reignite his passion for the game, winning the Grand Final that year to earn promotion to the DP World Tour. Last year, he won his first DP World Tour title at the Soudal Open in Belgium, before beginning the wraparound 2026 season with a victory at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in honour of Gary Player in South Africa. This year on the PGA TOUR, he has made 14 cuts from his 19 starts, highlighted by his breakthrough title at the Truist Championship - a Signature Event - in May as he became just the second Norwegian winner on the PGA TOUR. Shortly before, he teammed up with countryman Kristoffer Ventura to finish in a tie for second at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Add in further top tens at the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday and Valero Texas Open and he has proven himself to be a contender.

Alex Fitzpatrick

Age: 27

FedExCup Ranking: 19

The Englishman has enjoyed a truly transformative year, and there is still much to be played out. He began the year a DP World Tour member, having enjoyed a late burst of form to make it to the start of the DP World Tour Play-Offs last season in Abu Dhabi. While he made his first five cuts of the 2026 season, nobody could have predicted the highs he has since enjoyed. After a strong finish to the International Swing with a top ten at the Joburg Open, everything came together at the Hero Indian Open as he became a first-time winner over what is one of the toughest courses on the DP World Tour in DLF Golf & Country Club. A month later, his career trajectory changed even further as he paired with his brother Matt to win the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and with it a two-year winner's exemption on the PGA TOUR. He hasn't looked back, finishing in the top ten in his first three starts. A further top ten has since followed at the Travelers Championship, a peformance that helped him reach a career-high 62nd in the world. Add in debuts at the US PGA Championship and U.S. Open and there have been plenty of memories made, with the potential for more to come as he bids to go deep in the FedExCup Playoffs.

Nicolai Højgaard

Age: 25

FedExCup Ranking: 32

Official World Golf Ranking: 40

It may surprise some that this is the Dane's first taste of the FedExCup Playoffs. He secured Special Temporary Membership on the PGA TOUR in April 2023, at age 22, later making his Ryder Cup debut that year and he accumulated the necessary number of non-member FedExCup points to earn full status for the following season. But despite flashes of brilliance stateside since then, including runner-up finishes in each of his first two campaigns, this year is when he has produced the consistency required to finish among the top 70. Across his 19 starts, he has made the cut on 14 ocassions and registered four top tens. Of those, two have been runner-up finishes at the Truist Championship and Texas Children's Houston Open. The other two came across his opening three starts, laying the foundations for what has since followed. A source of dissapointment will inevitably be missing the cut at three of the four Majors, but a chance to prove himself among and play his way to East Lake is sure to be a source of motivation over the next fortnight.

Jordan Smith

Age: 33

FedExCup Ranking: 64

After the blow of missing out on gaining dual membership in 2024 by one spot, the Englishman locked up playing privlleges stateside for the first time last year at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. Known for his ball striking for many a season on the DP World Tour, he has brought that across the Atlantic and more than held his own. Across his 21 starts so far this year, he has made the cut on 15 occassions. Among those, he has eight top-25 finishes and has finished no worse than a tie for 39th across his last five starts to punch his ticket for the FedExCup Playoffs. Third at the Valspar Championship in March is his best finish of the season, but he was also in title contention at the Charles Schwab Challenge, Genesis Scottish Open and last week's Wyndham Championship before falling away over the weekend. Still, the positives far outweigh the negatives for the two-time DP World Tour winner who reached a career-high world ranking of 65th earlier this year. One last push awaits this week to try and extend his camapign stateside, before a return to the DP World Tour for the Back 9 awaits.
