Martin Couvra revealed he has sought advice from Patrick Reed in a bid to improve his wedge game.
Reed, the leader on the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World, is widely regarded as one of the best short-game players in the world.
Couvra is among the rising stars on the DP World Tour, having enjoyed a breakthrough rookie campaign in 2025 that saw him win the Turkish Airlines Open and the prestigious Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year award.
Ahead of his title defence in Türkiye, the Frenchman spoke to Inci Mehmet about some of his areas of focus – highlighting a chat with Major Championship winner Reed earlier this season.
In a new series, Tour Spotlight, broadcast during the DP World Tour’s coverage on the World Feed, Couvra said: “I talked to Patrick Reed in Bahrain because he is one of the best wedge players in the world.
“The first thing he taught me is more about technique. My body stopped a little bit at impact, and my arms [were] going away.
“The second one was more after performance tests. He taught me about some games I can do on the course with a wedge and chipping around the green.
“Really simple to be honest but really cool.”
