The five-time PGA TOUR winner will tee it up at Enhance Anting Golf Club for the 31st edition of the event, which takes place from April 23-26 in the Jiading district.

Na, who was born in South Korea and turned pro in 2001, has featured in fields on the Asian Tour this year, most recently the NZ Open and the ISPS HANDA Japan-Australasia Championship.

The 42-year-old will make his first appearance at China’s national open in a week’s time.

“I’m really excited for the opportunity to compete in the Volvo China Open,” said Na. “I’ve heard amazing things about the tournament and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.”

Na will join a host of local and international talent, including defending champion Ashun Wu, who will attempt to make history in becoming the first player to win the championship three times. The 40-year-old’s first win at the China Tour and DP World Tour co-sanctioned event came in 2015.

For Wu to make a successful title defence, he will have to outplay the likes of New Zealand’s Daniel Hillier, South African Thriston Lawrence and Spainard Eugenio Chacarra, as well as Englishman Andy Sullivan, who is currently ranked fifth in the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World.

Past champions Alexander Levy (France) and Adrian Otaegui (United Arab Emirates) will also tee it up alongside an exciting Chinese contingent, including Wenyi Ding and Yanhan Zhou.

The 156-player field includes more than 20 tournament winners from the past two seasons on the DP World Tour, the top 40 players from the China Tour and 12 players who earned their spot through the 36-hole Volvo China Open Qualifying tournament earlier this month.
