Omega European Masters: Fantasy DP World Tour Powered by Axi ones to watch

The Back 9 continues with our annual trip up the mountain to the stunning Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club for the Omega European Masters.

Here is everything that players of our Fantasy game need to know.

Phase Two of the season continues after getting started at last week's Husqvarna British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo.

This week's event began as the Swiss Open and is the 13th of 16 national opens on the DP World Tour schedule this season.

It was first held at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in 1948 and has been held there every year since, joining events such as the Hong Kong Open and Masters to be held at the same venue throughout the Tour's history.

Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World leader Patrick Reed will be looking to extend his advantage before closest challenger Rory McIlroy returns to action next week, and he is joined by fellow Masters champions Danny Willett and Sergio Garcia.

Fellow multiple winners in the 2026 season Jayden Schaper, Casey Jarvis and Eugenio Chacarra are also in action along with Ryder Cup winning brothers Rasmus and Nicolai Højgaard.

Add in former winner Matt Wallace, fellow Englishman Marco Penge and in-from PGA TOUR star Ryan Gerard and we should be in for a week to remember.

Who are the most backed players

After a strong week at The Belfry, Penge is our most picked player so far featuring in 68% of teams.

Rasmus Højgaard comes next over ten percentage points behind, with Wallace and Gerard on 52 and 49% respectively before Nicolai Højgaard rounds out the top five.

What is the Axi Edge Score?

The Axi Edge Score made a spectacular debut earlier this month as it tipped Jeff Winther, with the Dane going on to win his second DP World Tour title at the Danish Golf Championship on home soil.

The score is built entirely from data the Fantasy game already produces, via a composite golfer rating as follows:

Who has the Edge?

Nacho Elvira

Already a winner in 2026, the Spaniard arrives fresh off the back of a runner-up finish at The Belfry, his first top ten since February. An incredibly conistent perfromer, he is on track for the best Race to Dubai position of his career and right in the mix for dual membership with the PGA TOUR. He is also a veteran of this event having played all ten editions for which he has been eligible with two top tens and just three missed cuts.

Others to watch

Favourite - Ryan Gerard

The American arrives at a career-high 22nd in the Official World Golf Ranking after finishing third at the PGA TOUR's Tour Championship. This will be his sixth week in a row teeing it up since he finished in the top ten at The Open but his results have improved in each of the last three weeks so he is showing no signs of slowing down. Since winning the Barracuda Championship last season he has finished second four times, including three weeks in a row at the turn of the year. A win is certainly due.

Form Horse - Fabrizio Zanotti

Two weeks ago when the Paraguayan missed the cut at the Danish Golf Championship he was 179th on the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World. Now, after two top tens in the last two weeks, he has jumped over 50 places and has that all-important top 100 in his sights. He would already be inside that top 100 were it not for a triple bogey on the last on Sunday after leaving his ball in a bunker and then finding more sand. He has played every edition of this event since 2008, with a best finish of third in 2017.

Looking Back - Husqvarna British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo

He may have been on home soil but Joe Dean was not well fancied for his maiden DP World Tour win at The Belfry, winning 204 points for just 1.64% of players.

Our man with the Axi Edge Oliver Lindell finished in a tie for 15th, Favourite Tyrrell Hatton in a tie for 46th and Form Horse Matthew Jordan in a tie for 26th.
