Paratore’s victory at Close House was his second win on the European Tour after winning the Nordea Masters back in 2017. The speedy Italian shot four consecutive rounds in the 60s across the Tyneside layout and didn’t drop a shot until the ninth hole on Sunday as he went on to win by three shots.

This month’s runner up was Mark Warren, who ended a six-year wait for his fourth European Tour title as the season restarted at the Austrian Open following a four month pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Warren came out on top of an enthralling final round battle against Sebastian Garcia Rodriguez to regain his Tour card and ensure a long overdue trip back to the winners’ circle.
