Patrick Reed is set to resume his quest to win the Race to Dubai when he tees it up for a third consecutive year at the Open de España presented by Madrid, which takes place at Real Club de Campo Villa de Madrid from 8 to 11 October.
The American, who has led the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World since winning his second title of the season at the Qatar Masters in February, retired from the BMW PGA Championship earlier this month due to a wrist injury.
However, after subsequently missing the FedEx Open de France and withdrawing from the Alfred Dunhill Links as he continued his recovery, he is in line to make the first of back-to-back DP World Tour starts alongside a debut at the upcoming DP World India Championship.
The 2018 Masters winner is joined by fellow Major champions Francesco Molinari and countryman Bubba Watson in adding their names to an already impressive international field in the Spanish capital.
The field also includes three-time event winner Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Shane Lowry, Justin Rose, Ludvig Åberg, Alex Noren, Nicolai Højgaard and defending champion Marco Penge.
Eugenio Chacarra, third in the season-long rankings and a multiple winner on Tour this season like Reed, is part of a strong Spanish contingent that also features Sergio Garcia, Angel Ayora and Angel Hidalgo, champion in 2024.
Molinari has two Open d'Italia titles under his belt and several Ryder Cup appearances, forming part of the victorious European teams in 2010, 2012 and 2018, winning all five of his matches in the latter competition.
Watson, who won the Green Jacket in 2012 and 2014, will make his debut.
