Rob Beckett & Fore Bros Raise £50,000 for the Golf Foundation at the BMW PGA Championship

Rob Beckett teamed up with Declan and Conor Moloney of the Fore Bros for a two‑hour Hole‑in‑One Challenge at Wentworth on Tuesday, raising £50,000 for the Golf Foundation, the Official Charity of the BMW PGA Championship.

The challenge took place on the 18th hole of the East Course, beside the fan village, where the trio attempted to make a hole‑in‑one within the allotted time. They were joined by DP World Tour professionals Danny Willett, Paul Waring and Andrew “Beef” Johnston, as well as members of the crowd who stepped inside the ropes to take a shot.

Across the first hour and a half, there were several close calls — including Willett’s attempt with a putter — but no hole‑out. With 30 minutes remaining, the challenge evolved: £2,000 was awarded for every shot finishing within five feet of the pin. In the final 15 minutes, the target widened to ten feet, pushing the total to £48,000. The DP World Tour rounded the figure up to £50,000, recognising the Golf Foundation’s work supporting young people’s mental wellbeing in schools, golf clubs and communities.

Brendon Pyle, Golf Foundation CEO, said: "Thank you so much to the Tour and to BMW for involving us in such a fun activation that helps to celebrate our values so well. Golf is all about fun and growing the game, and this was a great way to showcase that. Thank you to Rob, the Fore Bros and all our special guests for thinking of us, and doing such hard work for raising our profile and of course the money which will go such a long way to making a difference."

Maria Grandinetti Milton, Director of Sustainability, said: “Today’s £50,000 fundraising total is a fantastic result and will help the Golf Foundation continue its important work supporting young people through golf.

“We are proud to have supported the Foundation over many years, and delighted to develop an engaging activity with RB and special friends to raise vital funds for the BMW PGA Championship’s Official Charity”

This year’s BMW PGA Championship marks a continued relationship with The Golf Foundation, who have worked closely with the DP World Tour in recent years, delivering community and school activations at tournaments and hosting engagement stands at the BMW PGA Championship and the Husqvarna British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo.

BMW also supports Unleash Your Drive in Schools, the Foundation’s mental wellbeing programme, which launched at the BMW PGA Championship in 2023. More than 2,000 schools have now registered interest in delivering the six‑week programme of fun, inclusive games designed to teach pupils key mental toughness tools for challenges on and off the course.

Activities across last year’s BMW PGA Championship raised £137,000 for the Golf Foundation, helping the charity introduce children to golf and use the game to build confidence, resilience and positive self‑talk.
