Scott reeled in on Sunday afternoon

Home favourite Adam Scott had company at the top of the leaderboard as he reached the turn on the final day of the Australian PGA Championship.

Scott, who is looking to become a two-time winner of this event after tasting victory at RACV Royal Pines Resort in 2013, began the day with a one stroke lead and stretched that advantage to two shots at the earliest opportunity on Sunday, firing a close range birdie at the first to move to 11 under par.

But a run of six straight pars opened the door for the chasing pack to close the gap, and when he dropped his first shot of the day after getting into trouble off the tee at the eighth, he slipped back into a share of the lead.

He was briefly knocked off the top of the leaderboard altogether as Michael Hendry, who has been struggling with a rib injury this weekend, made a birdie at the ninth to take the outright lead.

But former Masters Champion Scott closed out his front nine with a good up-and-down for birdie to join New Zealander Hendry and fellow Australian Nick Flanagan at the top.

Minkyu Kim and Wade Ormsby were a single shot behind the leaders on ten under.
