Singapore to make history as first Far East stop for G4D Tour

Singapore will host the first ever G4D Tour event in the Far East this year with G4D @ Singapore Classic taking place at Laguna National Golf Resort Club from February 6-7.

The tournament is the third of eight stops announced for 2023 as part of the G4D Tour's expanded global schedule and takes place ahead of the DP World Tour's Singapore Classic.

Launched in 2022, the G4D Tour provides a platform for the world's best golfers with a disability to compete in tournaments around the world, playing on the same courses the same week as members of the DP World Tour.

England's Kipp Popert, a four-time winner during the Tour's inaugural season in 2022, and veteran Australian Geoff Nicholas are among those who will tee it up at Laguna National.

The 61-year-old Nicholas dominated amputee golf for over a decade in the 1990s and qualified for The Senior Open presented by Rolex in 2019 at Royal Lytham & St Annes. Also set to compete are Aiden Graham of Ireland and Englishman Oliver Hirst-Greenham, who will be making their G4D Tour debuts. Popert will also lead a clinic with youths from the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore.

Singapore Classic Executive Championship Director Patrick Bowers said: "We are honoured to be the home of the first-ever G4D Tour event to be held in the Far East. This is a wonderful milestone to celebrate and we are looking forward to welcoming these talented golfers to Singapore."

The Singapore Classic marks the return of the DP World Tour to Singapore for the first time since 2014. The tournament is organised by Vantage Pointe, which delivers specialised and boutique strategic advisory to a distinct collection of golf-centric businesses.

Day tickets for February 9-12 are available from S$25, while a four-day season pass is available for S$80. Click here to purchase.
