Stars drawn together at BMW PGA Championship

Major Champions Martin Kaymer and Charl Schwartzel have been drawn together for the first two rounds of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club.

Masters Champion Schwartzel and US PGA Champion Kaymer will be joined on the first tee by Englishman Justin Rose at 12.30pm on Thursday, while World Number One Lee Westwood is paired with Alvaro Quiros and Major winner Retief Goosen at 8.15am.

Westwood’s closest rival in the Official World Golf Ranking, Luke Donald, begins his campaign alongside US Open Champion Graeme McDowell and defending champion Simon Khan at 8am.

Another mouthwatering draw pairs together two of the game’s brightest young talents in Matteo Manassero and Rory McIlroy, alongside another Northern Irishman Darren Clarke.

Ian Poulter, winner of last week’s Volvo World Match Play Championship, is paired with Ryder Cup teammates Francesco Molinari and Paul Casey at 12.50pm.

Another three-ball consisting entirely of European Ryder Cup Team members sees Ross Fisher, Edoardo Molinari and Peter Hanson tee off ten minutes later at 1pm.

The opening tee shot at Wentworth Club will be struck by Englishman Paul Waring at 7am on Thursday.
