Ahead of the Husqvarna British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo, The Belfry Hotel & Resort, which is hosting the tournament for a sixth year running, has revealed how its pioneering water recycling and irrigation system is helping prepare its legendary Brabazon Course for one of the biggest events in the UK golfing calendar.
As some of the sport's biggest names descend on the Midlands, including former Masters champions Patrick Reed and Danny Willett, maintaining world-class playing conditions remains a key priority for the leading golf resort's award-winning greenkeeping team.
Despite prolonged periods of hot and dry weather placing increasing pressure on water resources across the UK, The Belfry continues to deliver championship-quality surfaces through an innovative irrigation system powered entirely by recycled water.
Its onsite recycling plant treats and recycles wastewater from across the resort which is then returned to holding lakes and a reservoir and used directly to irrigate the courses through powerful pumps, helping to keep greens healthy while conserving valuable freshwater resources.

Famed for its precision-cut fairways, strategic bunkering, shimmering lakes and fast, undulating greens, The Belfry’s iconic Brabazon course has challenged some of golf’s greatest players including Seve Ballesteros, Sam Torrance, Rory McIlroy and many more, and witnessed some of the sport’s most dramatic moments.
This year’s British Masters marks the start of the Back 9, the second phase on the DP World Tour's Race to Dubai schedule, with increased Rankings points on offer throughout.

The Husqvarna British Masters has a rich legacy as one of the DP World Tour's most historic events. This year's tournament will be the 23rd event held at The Belfry as part of Golf’s Global Tour, with the Midlands venue first hosting the Lada English Golf Classic in 1979, won by the late Seve Ballesteros.
