The best hole-in-one list in golf? Shane Lowry's record now includes Masters history

At the 2026 Masters Tournament, Shane Lowry made the seventh hole-in-one of his professional career across both the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR.

By holing his tee shot at the par-three sixth in Saturday's third round, the Irishman became the first player to record multiple holes-in-one at Augusta National.

A decade after an ace at the 16th in 2016, Lowry added his name to Masters history.

It furthered an increasingly growing catalogue of holes-in-one for the 39-year-old, coming hot on the heels of one at last month's Texas Children's Houston Open on the PGA TOUR.

But what makes his list so impressive is the venues where they have happened.

As courses go, Augusta is right up there in the world game, but Lowry has also made aces on the seventh at Pebble Beach and the 17th at TPC Sawgrass.

As iconic par-three holes go, there are few Lowry hasn't produced a perfect shot at.

Asked about his enviable holes-in-one record, he said: "Maybe I'm just good," with a big smile coming across his face.

Among those perhaps in his sights as his career progresses are the "Postage Stamp" eighth at Royal Troon, the 16th at TPC Scottsdale, the 15th at Kingsbarns, "Calamity Corner" 16th at Royal Portrush, where he became a Major Champion in 2019, and the 16th at TPC Scottsdale.

Oh, add to that the 12th at Augusta - Golden Bell.

Among the world's most famous golf holes, an ace there will no doubt be an asipirational target for Lowry on his future visits down Magnolia Lane.

A timeline of Lowry's holes-in-one résumé

Lowry made his first hole-in-one as a professional over the Earth course at Jumierah Golf Estates in the DP World Tour Championship in 2013.

Playing alongside his good friend Rory McIlroy, he held his arms aloft after watching his tee shot with a six iron from 183 yards pitch just short of the hole before rolling in for an ace.

His second ace would then come on the Major Championship stage.

On his second Masters start, he holed an eight-iron from 181 yards during the final round in 2016. By coincidence, it was the 16th hole-in-one at the 16th in Masters history.

Two years later, he would achieve the feat again in the 2018 British Masters over the Old Course at Walton Heath.

Again using an eight-iron, he holed his tee shot at the 170-yard fifth during the second round of the DP World Tour event to produce a moment of another moment of magic.

Arguably the hole-in-one he is best remembered for came in 2022 at THE PLAYERS Championship.

Using a pitching wedge at the world-renowned 16th from 124 yards, his tee shot landed ten feet past the front pin before backing up, hitting the flagstick and dropping to prompt enthusiastic scenes of celebration at TPC Sawgrass.

His next perfect blow also came on the PGA TOUR at Pebble Beach in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in January 2025.

The short, downhill par three, nestled against the Pacific Ocean, is one of golf’s most photographed holes, and Lowry was again at it with a wedge in hand from from 113 yards.

And then came two in back-to-back starts worldwide.

Playing the par-three second hole at Memorial Park in the final round at the Houston Open, Lowry's tee shot landed in line with the hole, took a pair or bounces before rolling into the flagstick and falling into the hole.

And last but not least, the most recent.

Using a seven iron from 190 yards, Lowry sparked the patrons at Augusta into a frenzy after they watched as his ball pitched and rolled into the hole at the sixth for the one and only ace of the 2026 Masters.
