Rose Block

Michael Block collected famous playing partners at the 2023 US PGA Championship while Ryan Fox gave his verdict on an internet impostor.

Here is everything you need to know from Moving Day at Oak Hill.

Block par-ty

California club professional Michael Block continued to excel, with a third successive level-par round of 70 putting him in a share of eighth place going into Sunday’s final round. He achieved that in the company of Justin Rose, who said afterwards: “Great guy. I didn't know him until today, and it was great that we actually got (to talk) once the umbrellas came down. I felt like he was rooting for me and I was rooting for him, and the crowd was certainly rooting for him. He's having fun with them and they're having fun with him. It was a really great energy and he plays in a sort of a carefree way, just his mannerisms and the way he kind of, ‘one look, hit’, especially with his putter. I wish him well tomorrow.” Block admitted: “I didn't look at Rosey's face for the first three holes because I'm a big fan of Rosey and I've watched him my whole life, and I knew it could get a little too intimidating.” He will have to get used to the idea – his partner for Sunday’s 18 holes will be a certain Rory McIlroy, who came in at one under after his round of 69.

Norway rising

Viktor Hovland ended the day one shot off the lead and was keen to add to the recent success of Norwegian sportspeople. Erling Haaland has contributed a Premier League-record 36 goals to Manchester City's title success this season, while Casper Ruud reached the finals of two of tennis's four grand slam events last year. Asked about Haaland, Hovland said: "We've never met, but we've chatted a little bit online. What he's doing is pretty incredible. It's cool to see a lot of Norwegian athletes doing so well worldwide. Even Casper Ruud in tennis is doing great. It's pretty exciting to be a Norwegian."
