Consistency was the name of the game as Eugenio Chacarra won his second DP World Tour title at the KLM Open.
The Spaniard has made seven cuts in a row with a worst finish of 33rd since the end of April and that consistency in his game has been reflected in his bag, with only minor tweaks applied across the Asian and European Swings.
In fact, he has used the exact same equipment for his last three events, following a top 25 at the Soudal Open with a top 15 at the Austrian Alpine Open presented by Kitzbühel Tirol before his victory at The International.
Before that he had made two changes at the Hainan Classic presented by MAEXTRO, bringing in the TaylorMade Qi4D three wood for the Qi4D Tour and replacing his Tad Moore, MEM Make Everything Mallet putter with a PXG Apache Battle Ready II.
The short stick is actually where Chacarra has done the most tinkering this year, having peviously also used a Kevin Burns Kevin Burns Prototype and an Odyssey Ai-ONE Cruiser Jailbird.
At his Hero Indian Open defence he switched lob wedges, going back to a Titleist Vokey SM10 from a PXG StickEm, while two events later at the Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship he changed drivers, going from the PXG Lightning Tour Mid to a Titleist GTS2.
That all adds up to just four changes across eight events that have seen Chacarra jump 64 places on the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World.
For the 26-year-old, the key to success is very much evolution over revolution.
