Matt Fitzpatrick and Michael Thorbjornsen share lead in foggy Scotland

Matt Fitzpatrick and Michael Thorbjornsen shared the lead after a weather-interrupted third day of the Genesis Scottish Open.

It was foggy start to the day at The Renaissance Club, with a sea haar lingering over the course from the early tee times and that led to a delay of nearly two-and-a-half-hours as morning turned to afternoon.

That meant the overnight leaders would not get under way until after 6.00pm and when they did, it was soon all change at the top of the leadeboard.

At one point there was a five-way tie at the top but two quickfire birdies from Fitzpatrick moved him to 12 under before he dropped a shot on the eighth, which would be he final hole of the day before the hooter sounded due to the return of thick fog.

That left the Englishman alongside American Thorbjornsen, who was bogey-free with five birdies through 13 holes.

Johnny Keefer was the clubhouse leader at ten under, alongside fellow Americans Wyndham Clark, Chris Gotterup and Kevin Roy, Australian Min Woo Lee and Englaish overnight co-leader Jordan Smith, who all had holes still to complete.
