$50,000 Nexo course record incentive on offer at Real Club de Golf El Prat

A US$50,000 payday is on offer this week at the Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship through the Course Record presented by Nexo initiative.

With no existing course record at Real Club de Golf El Prat's Pink Course, a sizeable prize pot is to be won by the leading professional player in Spain so long as preferred lies are not in play.

The first player who sets the course record that continues to stand at the close of the competition will claim the award. If the course record is tied, the prize is awarded to the first player to set the record.

Hennie du Plessis became the first winner of the Course Record Presented by Nexo prize on the 2026 Race to Dubai at the Investec South African Open Championship in March.

The base prize for the season-long award subsequently reset to US$10,000, with the money since rolling over week to week due to no course records over the past five DP World Tour events that meet the eligibility criteria.

The Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship, which features a 156-player field, marks the first event of the European Swing.

The course record prize pot will reset to $10,000 later this month at the Soudal Open, the next counting event.

Nexo, the premier digital assets wealth platform, and the DP World Tour introduced the award in 2025.

Grant Forrest and Marco Penge were the two players to card course records last season, at the Nexo Championship and Danish Golf Championship respectively, both resulting in two $10,000 awards.
