Created history as the first Singaporean to win on The European Tour when he held off the defending champion Nick Dougherty of England for a one stroke victory in the 2006 Singapore Masters at his home course of Laguna National Golf and Country Club. Victory secured a two year exemption to The European Tour from the event jointly sanctioned with the Asian Tour.

Achieved his best finish since that victory with joint second place in the 2007 Celtic Manor Wales Open.

Had made his winning breakthrough in 2004 with victory in India on the Asian Tour.

Showed tremendous promise during his amateur career, which was highlighted by his individual victory in the Putra Cup in 1993, and helped Singapore land the team title.

When he turned professional in 1994, he enjoyed a dream start in the paid ranks as he scored a hole in one to claim a luxury car on his debut.

In 1997, he shot to prominence at Royal Troon when he became the first Singaporean to qualify for The Open Championship.

Says his decision to train under Australian coach Kel Llewellyn and yoga has enhanced his career.
