    Captured his second European Tour title with victory in windy conditions in the Van Lanschot Senior Open, finishing two shots clear of Andrew Oldcorn in The Netherlands. His maiden title came in the Handa Cup Senior Masters with a four stroke victory in his homeland and immediately set his sights on more success in Europe by becoming a Senior Tour Member. Shot a final round 65 for a 17 under par total of 271 at Ohmurasaki Golf Club to finish ahead of Frankie Minoza of the Philippines and the Japanese pairing of Satoshi Higashi and Kiyoshi Murota. Went on to finish tied fifth in The Aberdeen Brunei Senior Masters presented by The Stapleford Forum and fifth in the Fubon Senior Open. Born in Hiroshima, he turned professional in 1981 and has won 29 tournaments on the Japan Golf Tour, ranking fifth on the career list. Won the 1992 PGA Tour qualifying school and played full-time on the Tour in 1993. Played 65 times on the PGA Tour from 1981 to 1997. Finished tied fourth in The 1982 Open Championship. In 2005, he won the US Champions Tour qualifying school, and he began playing on that Tour in 2006. His best finish is a fourth place finish in the 2006 Wal-Mart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach. Finished 12th in the US Senior PGA Championship in 2007.
