    Learned to play golf at his father's nine-hole Himley Hall course.

    Baker was a consistent performer on the European Tour from the late 1980s until the early 2000s.

    Won his first title in stunning fashion as he beat Sir Nick Faldo in a sudden-death play-off with an eagle on the first extra hole of the 1988 Benson and Hedges International Open.

    Two wins in the 1993 season secured a place in The Ryder Cup side. Although Europe were defeated, Baker won three points out of a possible four. Was one of Ian Woosnam's vice captains at The 2006 Ryder Cup.

    Won his first Staysure Tour title at the 2019 Senior Open Hauts de France by Jean van de Velde, becoming the 11th player to win on the European Tour, Challenge Tour and Staysure Tour.
