Hails from a strong sporting family, with his brother Josh playing for Manchester United reserve s for five years, his cousin Tom Whitehouse a fellow golf professional while father Tim was a Conference footballer, but it was his uncle Bob who introduced him to golf at the age of six.

Turned professional in 2000 since when he has amassed a number of full seasons on either the Challenge Tour or European Tours. Has won five Challenge Tour titles, including two in 2016 to help secure a return to the top tier of European golf. Admired Seve Ballesteros, Lee Trevino and Jack Nicklaus growing up.
