Two solid performances in his home country in 2012 – tied eighth in the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open and tied tenth in the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles – helped him to retain his card in 110th place in The Race to Dubai. Twice a Challenge Tour graduate – in 2007 and 2009 – but the 2010 and 2011 campaigns proved that he had learned from his previous experience on The European Tour by occupying 86th and 63rd positions resepctively in The Race to Dubai. Landed the biggest win of his career at the Challenge Tour’s season-ending Apulia San Domenico Grand Final in 2009 to finish fifth in the Rankings. In 2007, he produced one of the outstanding individual performances of the Challenge Tour season, shooting a nine under par 63 in testing third round conditions en route to his maiden victory in the Dutch Futures. Became the eighth double winner of the 2007 Challenge Tour season by taking the doc Salbe PGA European Challenge a fortnight later to win a place on The European Tour for the first time. Represented Scotland Boys and Youths before turning professional in 2002. Won on the Europro Tour and spent four seasons on the Challenge Tour before making his breakthrough. His brother, Stewart, is also a professional and shared a college dormitory with South Africa’s Tim Clark at North Carolina State University.
