Became the seventh member of the 2007 Great Britain and Ireland Walker Cup team to progress to The European Tour when he took the 12th card at the 2010 Qualifying School Final Stage. Both he and elder brother Elliot finished inside the top 30 to become the first siblings to graduate from the Qualifying School in the same year. Younger brother Zack, who caddied for him at the Qualifying School Final Stage, is also a professional golfer. Will now hope to follow in the footsteps of his former Walker Cup team-mates Rhys Davies, David Horsey, Rory McIlroy and John Parry, all of whom have triumphed on The European Tour since suffering the one-point defeat to their American counterparts at Royal County Down Golf Club four years ago. The highlight of an illustrious amateur career came at The Open Championship in 2005, when he won the Silver Medal after finishing in a tie for 15th place alongside the likes of Darren Clarke, John Daly and Trevor Immelman. Length off the tee has always been one of his biggest assets, but credits the work he undertook with renowned coach and Sky Sports analyst Mark Roe for the improvement in his short game. Like McIlroy, whose season tickets he sometimes borrows, he is an avid Manchester United supporter.
