Burst onto the Asian Tour in spectacular fashion by becoming its youngest winner, having triumphed in the 2005 Double A International Open in Bangkok aged just 17 years and five days. Came from five shots back with a final round 67, which included three closing birdies, to force a play-off and subsequently defeat India’s Shiv Kapur. Took up golf at the age of eight, as his parents were both avid players and wanted their children to pick up the game. Soon developed into a leading amateur player, winning titles in Australia and America. Nicknamed “Neung”, which means the number one in Thai, due to his birthdate of November 1 (1/11). Has spoken of his desire to succeed India’s Jeev Milkha Singh as Asia’s Number One player. Says practising regularly with top Thai players, including Thaworn Wiratchant, Boonchu Ruangkit, Prayad Marksaeng and Thammanoon Srirot, has helped him develop into a better player. Will get to test that theory when he embarks on his maiden European Tour season, having claimed 12th place in the Qualifying School – Final Stage.
