    Capped a sensational 2008 season on the US PGA Tour with two victories; in the Wachovia Championship and the AT&T National and played a leading role on the victorious United States Ryder Cup Team at Valhalla Golf Club, winning two and a half points out of four including a crucial 5 and 4 singles victory on the final day at the top of the order over Sergio Garcia. In total in 2008, he made the cut in 19 of his 22 starts on the US PGA Tour on his way to a fourth place finish in the FedEx Cup standings and a career high of eighth on the Official World Golf Ranking. Followed up his desire to be more of a world golfer by taking up Affiliate Membership of The European Tour in 2009 and almost won the inaugural Volvo World Match Play title, only to be defeated in the final by Ross Fisher. Before he turned professional, he was a member of the victorious 2005 United States Walker Cup team along with J B Holmes, with whom he joined forces at Valhalla. Was also a four-time American Junior Golf Association All-American winner. One of his distinctive traits is his own belt buckles complete with the inscription ‘AK’ – his nickname.
