    Won the Maybank Malaysian Open in 2010 to become the then second youngest winner in European Tour history, at 18 years and 282 days, after Danny Lee, whose record was beaten later in the year by Matteo Manassero. Held off compatriot KJ Choi for victory. Came fourth at the Ballantine’s Championship in his native Korea a month later and added another top ten – fourth at the Omega European Masters – to come 34th in The Race to Dubai. Finished top of the Asian Tour Order of Merit the same year. Won the Asian Tour’s Rookie of the Year award in 2008 and played for the Korea national team in 2006 and 2007. Made his Major Championship debut at the 2010 US Open, where he made the cut. Took up golf when he was seven, hitting balls on the beach near his house.
