Runner-up to Mark Mouland in the Belas Clube de Campo Senior Open de Portugal, missing out on a third Senior Tour title by one shot. The American ended the season with a share of ninth place in the MCB Tour Championship to move inside the top 30 on the Order of Merit in 29th position. Victory in the 2010 season-ending OKI Castellón Senior Tour Championship was particularly timely given that his two-year exemption for winning on his debut in Brunei was due to expire. Surged through the field with a final round 64 in Spain to land his second Senior Tour title, one stroke clear of José Rivero. His previous win came on his debut in the 2009 season-opening Aberdeen Brunei Senior Masters presented by The Stapleford Forum, when he finished two strokes clear of Jimmy Heggarty at The Empire Hotel & Country Club. In doing so he became the first player since Denis Watson in the 2007 US Senior PGA Championship to win in his first Senior Tour event, a feat subsequently matched by Michael Allen in the 2009 US Senior PGA Championship. The victory also gained him playing privileges after spending 14 years predominantly on the Asian Tour. Won the 1997 Asian Tour Order of Merit despite not winning a tournament before finally making his breakthrough in the 2003 Indian Open. Renowned for being a fine ball striker and blames his putter for not allowing him to win as many titles as he should have. Started his sporting career in tennis and dreamed of becoming a professional player. During his teens, he toured Europe with the junior American Davis Cup team but realised later he had no future in the game “as I had no wheels, no speed”.
