Turned professional at just 15 and soon made an impression, winning both the Asian Tour and Korean Tour Orders of Merit.

Came to prominence internationally by finishing third at the 2022 Genesis Scottish Open and by the end of the year was a two-time PGA TOUR winner.

He successfully defended his Shriner's Children's Open title in 2023 but by June 2026 he had dropped out of the top 150 in the world before returning to form with a third-place finish at the U.S. Open.

Less than a month later he came full circle as he won his maiden DP World Tour and Rolex Series title at the Genesis Scottish Open.
