The man from Buenos Aires was a regular visitor to Europe during the 1980s, his best season coming in 1986 when he claimed fifth place at the Peugeot Open de France on his way to finishing 79th on the Order of Merit. He represented Argentina in the 1986 Alfred Dunhill Cup and the 1987 World Cup but his finest moment came, not while representing his country, but in the 1987 San Paolo Open, when he defeated Eduardo Romero in a sudden-death play-off to claim the most significant title of his career. Turned 50 in September 2004.
