Tom's career is a real believe-it-or-not story. Raised on a farm he became an iron foundry worker and car factory hand, before teaching himself golf at the age of 25. Then at 34 he turned professional after seriously considering playing ten-pin bowls for a living. As a rookie he won the US PGA Seniors Championship in 1993 and a year later the Senior British Open.
