    Stunned the world of golf in 1999, when he became the first player since Bruce Devlin in 1960 to win the Australian Open as an amateur. At 18, he was also the youngest player in history to win the title. Turned professional in 2000, and went on to defend the Australian Open at the Kingston Heath GC near his home in Melbourne. Used to appearing in the record books, he was the youngest qualifier in the history of the Victorian Open at 15 years old, and was also the youngest winner of the Riversdale Cup tournament in his native Australia in 1999. Also represented Australia as an amateur in the Eisenhower Trophy. Won the Greg Norman Holden International event in his home country but concentrated on the US PGA Tour in the United States, where he has won in both 2006 and 2007. Began the 2008 season on The European Tour in fine style, beating Swede Daniel Chopra in a play-off for the MasterCard Masters in Melbourne before again focusing on the US PGA Tour. Has dual American and Australian nationality, having been born in the USA of Australian parents. Grandmother, Jean Baddeley, introduced him to golf at the age of eight.
