Enjoyed the best season of his career in 2014, the highlights coming at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, where he took fifth place, and the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club, where he was tied 12th.

Produced a gutsy display in the 2013 Portugal Masters to finish tied eighth and secure his playing rights for the following season, and earlier that year was in contention to win on home soil at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open before fading over the weekend.

Claimed his maiden Challenge Tour title in the 2012 ALLIANZ Open de Lyon, en route to graduating to The European Tour via tenth place in the Rankings.

Played his rookie season on The European Tour in 2009 after coming through the 2008 Qualifying School, but finished 168th in The Race to Dubai to return to the Challenge Tour. Was the Scottish PGA’s Number One player in 2008 after winning a record five Order of Merit tournaments on the Tartan Tour.

Went on to win the Great Britain and Ireland PGA ‘Play-Off’ series that sees the PGA’s best players from each region go head-to-head to determine who will be crowned the number one player across Great Britain and Ireland.

Learned the game from his great uncle Davie and his father, Hugh, at Whinhill Golf Club in Greenock.
