Despite battling back problems throughout his career, showed it was no barrier to success when he claimed his maiden European Tour victory in the 2005 Aa St Omer Open, beating England’s Paul Dwyer in a sudden-death play-off. Revealed that the only way to avoid his spinal problems is to keep fit, and he still plays tennis when he is not on the golf course. Avoided a return to the Qualifying School at the end of the 2006 season when he finished 108th on the Order of Merit but could not repeat the feat in 2007 as he dropped to 137th before bouncing back by claiming the 13th card at the Qualifying School – Final Stage. Coached by Robert Larsson, who takes care of both the physical and mental side of his game.
