Plagued by a nagging foot injury, his 2006 season was severely limited. Injury stemmed from a car crash suffered earlier in the year where he damaged his leg, back and had a lot of whiplash, causing problems in walking 18 holes. As a result was unable to replicate the form which helped him win the 2005 Scandinavian Masters and finish tied for fifth, third, 15th and 59th in the Masters Tournament, US Open Championship, The Open Championship and the US PGA Championship respectively. Endured a less than auspicious start to life in America when he moved from his native Melbourne to Chicago as a 22 year old in 1994. Initially went to live with friends whose subsequent move meant he lived in his car in the parking lot at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club, home of the US PGA Tour’s Cialis Western Open. Won the Illinois State Amateur that year before turning professional. Collected three victories on the Nationwide Tour before graduating to the US PGA Tour and winning the 2004 John Deere Classic.
