Came within a whisker of capturing his maiden European Tour title at the 2009 Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles, where he surged through the field on the final day with a closing round of 62. But ultimately had to settle for second place behind his compatriot Peter Hedblom, who prevailed by one shot. A man for the summer season, he repeated his excellent summer form of 2006 and 2007 in 2008 with three top ten finishes in the space of nine weeks to ensure another comfortable year. First secured his place on The European Tour through the Challenge Tour in 2003, when he recorded nine top ten finishes over the course of the season – including his maiden Challenge Tour win at the Challenge de España – to finish sixth in the final Rankings. Missed out on retaining his European Tour card by three places in 2004, finishing 119th on the Money List, but went to the Qualifying School and emerged with the 35th card. During his amateur career he played for Sweden in the 1996 Eisenhower Trophy, finishing second in a team containing former European Tour players Christopher Hanell – now a member of the Tournament Players’ Committee – and Leif Westerberg.
