Secured his first European Tour win in August 2009 at the Moravia Silesia Open presented by ALO Diamonds, where he continued his fine form from the previous week when he tied for fourth at the SAS Masters in Sweden. Only nine months earlier had earned his European Tour playing privileges for 2009 at the Qualifying School, where he became the first player in history to emerge from the first two stages and then win the Final Stage. He first visited a golf course aged five, when he used to “look in the rough for golf balls” while his father played. Took the game up himself aged eight, and later attended a centre for golfing excellence in his native Sweden. Progressed to the Swedish national team, and turned professional before the Qualifying School – Final Stage in 2004. Played two subsequent seasons on the European Challenge Tour, but decided to return home and instead concentrate on ironing out the flaws in his game with Staffan Johansson, who coached the Iceland national team for a number of years. Also employs a physical conditioning coach, Jino Eriksson, who is the head coach of his local ice hockey team, HV71. An avid HV 71 fan, often attends home and away games when he is back in his native Sweden. Studied philosophy at university and enjoys reading philosophical and historical works in his spare time.
